Schönbrunn Palace is
the most visited tourist attraction in
Vienna as well as one of the most important cultural monuments
in
Austria. The whole palace komplex includes the imperial
palace, the
park with fountains, statues & architectural features
(Palmhaus, Gloriette)
and ZOO. It was former the summer
residence to various

ghost trains, arcades, fairy-tale railway, extra long slides,
stands for games of skills etc. .. a modern adventure world with
250 different attractions ...as well as many cafés, restaurants,
bars, snack ...planetarium...

Tip 3: St. Stephens´s Cathedral (Stephansdom)
St. Stephens´s Cathedral stands on the ruins of two earlier
churches and was completed in the year 1160. Its current
Romanesque and Gothic form was initiated later by Rudolf IV
(1339 - 1365). As the most important religious building in
Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop, the cathedral became
one of the city´s symbols and the place for important events in
the nation´s history.

Vienna, Belvedere |
Tip 4: Belvedere palace
The Belvedere is a baroque palace complex with beautiful
statues, garden and
fountains built 1714 - 1723 by Prince
Eugene of Savoy as his own summer residence. Since 1775
the Belvedere has housed the imperial picture gallery - later
transferred to Museum of Art History. Since 1903 the Austrian
Gallery museum with world largest Klimt collection resides here.

Tip 5: Butterfly house (Schmetterlinghaus)
The tropical butterfly house is located in the centre of the
city just 200 meters from the opera building. In natural rain
forest environment you can see and be amazed by hundreds
of live, free-flying tropical butterflies.

Tip 6: Albertina museum & gallery
Albertina houses one of the largest graphic art collections in
the world with cca 44000 drawings and 1 milion old master
prints (Leonardo da Vinci, Michalangelo, Raffael, Rubens,
Rembrandt, Dürer) + modern graphic works. Albertina is located
in the centre of the city just 100 meters from the opera building.

Vienna, Karlskirche (St. Charles´s Church) |

Tip 7: Church of St. Charles Borromeo (Karlskirche)
St. Charles´s Church built in Baroque Rococo style was
completed 1737 on behalf of Charles VI, Holy Roman Emperor
The building of the church had
started after a great plaques
epidemic in 1713 with 9000 victimes in Vienna. It was
dedicated to St. Charles Borromeo - a healer for plaque
sufferers.

Tip 8: Museum of Art History (Kunsthistorisches Museum)
Kunsthistorisches Museum is one of the oldiest museums of
the fine arts and decorative arts in the world and it houses
one of the most important art collections in the world - known is
mainly the Bruegel picture collection. Also masterpieces by
Caravaggio, Lucas Cranach, Anton van Dyck, Il Guernico,
Dürer,
Giorgione, Hans Holbein, Raffael, Rembrandt, Guido Reni,
Rubens, Tiepolo, Tintoretto, Titian, Velasquez, Veronese, Fetti,
Vermeer van Delf, Canaletto, Correggio etc you can see here.

Burgtheater (Imperial Court Theater) built 1748 and fprmer
known as K.K. Theater an der Burg or later as K.K.
Hofburgtheater is the Austrian National Theater in Vienna today.
It is one of the most important German language theatres in the

Hundertwasserhaus is a rare apartment house in the 3rd district
of Vienna with a roof covered with the earth, grass and bushes
